Social Media Manager
Summary
The Social Media Manager supports Colorado Homeschool Enrichment’s regional communication and engagement efforts by managing and moderating CHE’s social media platforms. This role is responsible for coordinating timely and accurate information distribution across regions, maintaining a positive and mission-aligned online presence, and supporting community communication through responsive engagement and content moderation.
This position works in collaboration with the Marketing team; while strategic marketing plans and content creation are led by Marketing, the Social Media Manager ensures that approved information is communicated effectively, monitored consistently, and maintained in alignment with CHE’s values and policies.
The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and confident navigating online communities with professionalism, clarity, and discretion.

Compensation Range
$23.00 – $27.00/hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day posting, scheduling, and moderation across CHE’s social media platforms.
- Coordinate and distribute approved information to different regions in a timely and consistent manner.
- Monitor comments, messages, and community interactions; respond appropriately or escalate as needed.
- Remove or address posts and comments that are unhelpful, inaccurate, or misaligned with CHE policies and standards.
- Support regional communication efforts by ensuring clarity, consistency, and professionalism in messaging.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Liaison to ensure content aligns with organizational policies and guidelines.
- Work alongside the Marketing team to implement approved plans and materials without owning overall strategy.
- Track common questions, trends, or concerns from online communities and communicate insights to leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion across all platforms and communications.
- Provide flexible support during high-communication periods, events, or organizational updates.
Location
- Remote role based in Colorado with flexible scheduling.
- Availability required for regular check-ins and coordination meetings during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 9:00a - 5:00p).
- Occasional evening or weekend monitoring may be needed during events or high-traffic periods.
- Periodic in-person attendance may be requested for organizational events or training
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in education, nonprofit, or community-based organizations
- Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments or regulated communication (or willingness to learn)
- Basic familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, or Trello
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing social media platforms or online communities
- Strong written communication skills with attention to tone, clarity, and professionalism
- Ability to manage multiple platforms and priorities while meeting deadlines
- Experience with social media tools and platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, scheduling tools)
- Comfort engaging with diverse audiences in a calm, respectful, and policy-aligned manner
